Election of Elena Chiriotti to the Executive Council of ITA-AITES
3 July 2025We are very pleased and proud to announce that Elena Chiriotti has been elected as a member of the Executive Council of the International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (ITA-AITES), during the General Assembly held at WTC 2025 in Stockholm.
This appointment marks an important moment for the French underground construction community — the last representative of AFTES on the ITA-AITES Executive Council was Éric Leca, who served as Vice President from 2016 to 2019, and as a member from 2013 to 2016.
We chose Elena to represent AFTES as a natural continuation of her long-standing commitment to ITA-AITES since 2006, both through her involvement in working groups (Chair of Working Group 2 from 2019 to 2025) and her active participation in ITACET. Her many years of engagement in AFTES working groups and her close ties with our association will ensure effective representation in this key role, while also helping to promote our best practices and enhance our international visibility.
We wish Elena every success in this new international role, which she takes on with great energy, expertise, and a strong vision for the future of underground structures and spaces.
