A tribute to Olivier Vion at the heart of the Toulouse Metro Line C project

On 15 December, the unveiling ceremony of the commemorative plaque in tribute to Olivier Vion took place at the construction site of the future Sept Deniers – Stade Toulousain station in Toulouse, as part of the Metro Line C project.

The ceremony was held in the presence of the President of Eurosud TEAM, the President of Tisséo Ingénierie, representatives of Toulouse Métropole, as well as Olivier Vion’s family and close friends. Many members of AFTES were also in attendance to honor the memory of a professional who was unanimously respected and recognized.

The commemorative plaque, which will be installed within the future station, pays tribute to a man whose exceptional expertise in the field of underground works and tunnel excavation left a lasting mark on the profession. It also reflects his deep passion for rugby, an essential aspect of his personality.

Following this moment of remembrance, a site visit was organized for the participants. This included observing a TBM shifting operation, providing a concrete illustration of the technical expertise and excellence of the teams involved in this emblematic project.
