Equipment, Materials & Products Committee
The Equipment, Materials and Products Committee consists of AFTES members representing all professions concerned by plant, equipment and products intended for underground works and construction. This committee coordinates the actions of manufacturers and suppliers of plant, equipment and products for underground construction.
Committee missions:
- Promote AFTES and the association's expectations to manufacturers, empowering them to align their development accordingly.
- Propose the creation of specialist working groups reporting to the Technical Committee.
- Participate in existing working groups, in liaison with specialist manufacturers and supplier.
- Sit on the editorial committee of the TES journal, and suggest ideas for content.
- Support the Association at industry events worldwide, and assist delegates at regional events.
- Organise factory tours with delegates, and specialist conferences relating to ‘Plant, Equipment and Products’.
- Promote AFTES's international presence via shared stands at industry events abroad.
Organising and staffing an AFTES space promoting AFTES member companies provides a shop window for industrial partners, and opens up opportunities for new business at global tunnelling conferences.
In mid-2025, AFTES unveiled its online showcase dedicated to Equipment, Materials and Products (E.M.P.).
The result of three years of collaborative work, this platform showcases the expertise of Manufacturers and Suppliers who are collective members of the Association, and offers professionals in underground projects and works clear, structured access to the available solutions.
