ITA COSUF Workshop

There will be an insightful presentations leading experts on the management and operation of nuclear underground facilities, including transportation networks, utility tunnels, etecetera. Besides, a site visit to the Mont Terri Rock Laboratory is part of the program. This is an underground research facility located near St-Ursanne, in the Jura Mountains of Switzerland. It is situated within the Opalinus Clay formation, a geological layer that has been the focus of extensive research due to its properties as a potential host rock for the deep geological disposal of radioactive waste. The lab is internationally recognized as a leading center for research in geosciences, particularly in the context of long-term storage of hazardous materials such as nuclear waste. As a non-COSUF members, you will pay a fee of € 250 granting access to the event and a full year of free membership in 2026.
